Position: Software Engineer III

Description: Cymertek is looking for a Software Engineer III to join our Dream Team and support an ongoing analytics development effort. This position requires a developer with the ability to work full-stack development and demonstrated skills managing the application infrastructure systems. This position will spend ~40% time performing system scalability operations, performance tuning and maintenance from the OS upward. The candidate will be part of a small, end-to-end application development team that builds the UI, analytics, business rules, data ingest, processing, and storage, and high-to-low operations to automate workflow for mission tradecraft.  Specific tasking for this role can include refactoring to achieve scalability, network and system configuration, systematic research and implementation of software updates, ElasticSearch cluster configuration, setup of load balancing, failover, and proxy services, and setup of a small data analytic cluster. Development tasks can include batch and streaming analytics development, enrichment and correlation, backend system-to-system communications development, business logic rules design, and UI development. The system includes a handful of baremetal servers, COOP VMs, and a virtual development environment.

Clearance Requirement: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

Required Skills/Education
  •  An understanding of how UIS code works and how analysts use UIS. Knowledge of XML structure, XML parsers, SQL and Perl is required. Development skills in Java threading/thread pooling, RMI, character set encoding, swing, JDBC, JMS, J2EE, Enterprise Java Beans, Web Logic, Servlets, and JSP are required.
  • Candidates shall have 12+ years of general experience in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline, including at least 5 years of experience in software intensive projects and programs for government or industry customers. (Note: A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline, may be substituted for 4 years of general experience. A master’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline, may be substituted for an additional two years of general experience.)
  • Additionally, at least 4 years of the experience must have been as a software engineer supporting software architecture development, requirement analysis, process execution and evaluation, selection and evaluation of COTS/GOTS tools, and integration (with both new and existing systems).
  • Strong Java and JAVASCRIPT skills are required
  • Experience with business logic rules and workflow automation techniques
  • Experience with RESTful services, SpringBoot, SprintData and jQuery
  • Experience with MONGO or similar noSQL database
  • Experience with customer GHOSTMACHINE development environment
  • Experience with development on Linux using Eclipse or similar IDE
  • Experience managing code with configuration management tools and processes
  • Familiarity with big data analytics using Lambda architecture and products such as Hadoop/Spark
  • Familiarity with customer corporate tools such as XKS, DX, UTT, Reference Data Sets
